The F700 GPS dog fence puts two tools in one kit: a wireless virtual fence that uses GPS to draw a circular boundary, and a handheld remote for hands-on training sessions. There are no wires to bury and no posts to install. This open-box kit is $99.99 and includes the handheld transmitter, the receiver collar, a USB charging cable, a test light with contact points and the manual.
The two modes of the F700 GPS dog fence
Virtual fence mode
You set a custom radius around your home, cottage or campsite. When your dog approaches the edge, the collar gives a warning by tone, vibration or adjustable static stimulation, depending on how you’ve set it up. Because the boundary is a circle, it suits open properties where a round perimeter makes sense.
Remote training mode
Switch to manual mode and you send the cue yourself from the handheld transmitter, for example to get your dog’s attention during recall practice. Its backlit digital screen shows battery level, perimeter distance and the communication channel at a glance.
Getting started responsibly
- Begin with tone and vibration. They’re the gentlest cues, and many owners find they’re enough.
- If you use static, keep it at the lowest effective level. Use the included test light to check the static function instead of testing it on your dog.
- Pair cues with positive training. Reward your dog for turning back from the boundary or coming when called. A qualified trainer can help, especially with anxious or reactive dogs.
- Check the fit and your dog’s skin. The adjustable strap suits medium and large dogs. Follow the manual on fit and wear time, and check your dog’s neck regularly.
- Stay close during the first sessions. Watch how your dog reacts before relying on the fence.
What a GPS fence can’t do
A virtual fence is a training aid, not a physical barrier. It can’t guarantee your dog stays inside the boundary, and it won’t keep other animals out. GPS positioning is approximate and can drift near buildings or under heavy tree cover, so leave a generous margin between the boundary and any road. Check your municipality’s bylaws, as well as the rules at campgrounds and parks, since many places require dogs to be leashed.
Built for outdoor use
The rechargeable collar is designed to handle rain, mud and splashes, so a wet walk or a muddy yard isn’t a problem. Both the collar and transmitter work wirelessly, and the collar charges with the included USB cable.

Open Box F700 2-in-1 GPS Dog Fence & Training Collar: questions & answers
Will the F700 guarantee my dog stays in the yard?
No. It's a training aid, not a physical fence, and GPS boundaries are approximate. Supervise your dog, especially at first, and leave a margin between the boundary and any road.
Do I have to use the static stimulation?
No. The collar also has tone and vibration modes. Start with those, and if you do use static, keep it at the lowest effective level and check it with the included test light rather than on your dog.
What size of dog is it for?
The adjustable strap suits medium and large dogs. Follow the manual on how to fit the collar, and check your dog's neck regularly.
Can the collar get wet?
The rechargeable collar is designed to handle rain, mud and splashes during outdoor activities. Charge it with the included USB cable and follow the manual's care instructions.
