Why Mini LED makes sense on a big screen

The bigger the screen, the easier it is to notice weak contrast. Conventional LED TVs light their LCD panel with a smaller number of larger LEDs, so light from bright areas can spill into dark ones. Mini LED backlights use many more, much smaller LEDs, which generally allows tighter control over brightness across the picture.
